Given i barely started the project and i still only have 10 miniatures painted, it’s premature thinking about displaying the models; but i’m gonna do it anyway.
I would like to arrange the HQ / Primary characters of each demi-companies in a stepped display.
I spent some time this afternoon in Freecad and came up with a rough idea of what i want:
Each “rank” should be on a different step and the number of models should more or less linearly increase.
As it curently stands, the display will have 1-3-6 models for the Transitores and 1-2-3 for the Velites.
Amnis Transitores
- Captain
- Lieutenant / Ancient / Librarian
- Eusebius Squad (Vet. Intercessors-as-Tyrannic-War-Vets) / Apothecary
and
Torvum Velites
- Captain
- Lieuteant / Chaplain
- Vedius Squad (Bladeguard)
Stretch goal would be to build the display like a piece of terrain, with space for the models' base to slot in (with magnets?) so they look like a diorama, but can be easily removed if they are needed for a game.
These should fit in a Detolf display case, sitting side by side. They are 15 cm wide each and the IKEA Glass display is 40 cm wide.
I haven’t really given much thought yet to dimensions and these might have to get scaled up, but for the moment i like this idea.
